After completing his MBBS, he did M.D. (Radiodiagnosis and Intervention Radiology) from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Lucknow, and then D.M. Neurointervention Radiology and Neuroimaging , AIIMS (All India institute of medical Sciences ), New Delhi, India.

His areas of interest are Endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms using detachable coils (Aneurysm Coiling), balloon remodelling, and stent assisted embolisation, Flow diverter stent treatment for intracranial aneurysms, Endovascular treatment of Cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVM) and fistulas using glue or onyx, Endovascular treatment of dural arteriovenous malformations by arterial or venous routes using glue, onyx and coils, Angioplasty and stenting of arterial stenosis including carotid stenting and vertebral stenting, Acute stroke intra-arterial interventions using Stent retriever (Solitaire, Trevo, Revive), Penumbra device and thrombolytic drugs, Spinal interventions- including spinal angiography, spinal AVM embolization, embolization of tumours, Embolization of carotid cavernous fistulas (CCF) with detachable balloons or coils, Preoperative tumor embolization in head and neck region.
